Give-a-LOT Donated Computer Giveaway

WHAT

Thank you for taking the first step to “ learnOPENtech !“ This registration is for you to sign up to receive a free donated computer*. The only catch is, you have to join us Friday, October 2nd for a 2.5hr workshop on were you learn the basics of Linux and Open Source Software! That’s it! That’s the only requirement on your part. It will be first come first serve, which is why you need to register for this event, to save your spot.

learnOPENtech (LOT) has partnered with DevSA (501c3 tech education nonprofit) to impact the community in San Antonio, Texas. We collect donated computers from individuals and companies, refurbish them with Linux and other Open Source Software (OSS), and provide essential training to students, families, and non-profits in need of tech that doesn’t spy, data-mine, or sell your data!

WHY

The Open Source Mindset: Open Source Software (OSS) is software source code that anyone can inspect, modify, and share. It is "free" in two ways: as in price (no cost) and as in freedom (no restrictive proprietary licenses). This means LOT can legally make copies and give it away for others to enjoy and learn from.

By promoting an Open Source Mindset, LOT and DevSA aim to increase educational achievement regardless of economic status or access to tech in the home. We believe technology should be a tool for empowerment, not a financial burden.
